It was the home of a photographer who seemed to do lots of film photography and had heaps of photography books (yay!). You could definitely tell it was a bit of an arty place, which I really liked since it made the apartment feel like home. I could have definitely imagined myself living there - although I might change a few things around I loved the overall feel of the place. It was spacious, light, had a lovely view (I imagine most places do in Rome), and it came with fans. Which came in pretty handy. ;) Plus, even the staircase was looking good (first picture).
But, I can also imagine that Rome might have influenced my opinion of the apartment a bit. I loved Rome, so maybe I just projected that feeling onto the place - at least a little bit.
The apartment was literally right around the corner from the Colosseum, which made it easy to get to, and as I said before (here, here, and here) we ended up walking everywhere.
Anyway, just wanted to give you an insight into our Rome apartment, and hope you do consider staying with AirBnB when you go travelling. It's such an easy, affordable (+ you could get a discount off your first trip if you're signing up for the first time - see link), and nice way to get to know a city.

Looks amazing! That last photo is hilarious.
ReplyDeleteMy boyfriend actually took that one ;)
DeleteWhat a cozy apartment! Great photos as usual!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cris! :)

ReplyDeleteIt is really interesting seeing how other people live, isn't it?!
DeleteBeautiful pictures! We always use Airbnb when we travel. I think it really helps you get a better sense of life in the area you're staying.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! It helps a lot! Gives you a better idea of what the area/city feels like.
DeleteWow! I am just loving all the imagery of Rome, Helena. Absolutely beautiful! Everyone seems to be traveling to these gorgeous places... I haven't seen a whole lot of Rome which is why I am just swooning over these. <3 Gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteAww, thank you so much, Latrina! I know what you mean - I hadn't seen many images of Rome at all before we went, and neither felt like I had heard much about it. That's probably why I was so positively surprised when I got there - It really is a beautiful place. Glad you like the photos! :)
Deletewhat a great way to get to know a city. i cant wait to explore rome when i study abroad.
ReplyDeleteWhere will you be studying? Would be amazing if you could go and see Rome, it's lovely. :)
DeleteHey, everything about this apartment looks so beautiful, and all the other Rome pictures anyway. That's why I love AirBnB so much, it's just amazing that you get to live in these pretty, personal, artsy apartments instead of some boring hotel.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Hanna! I totally agree with you, it's awesome staying in personal, homely places when you're travelling.
DeleteThat apartment looks fabulous! As you said, it probably also helps that Rome is just so magical. Have never tried Air BnB, this makes me want to give it a go.
ReplyDeleteClaire.
You should, I can really recommend it. :) If you're lucky you'll meet some nice people, too.
